Mom, You are always with me. I miss our weekly lunches and jewelry making classes. I miss laughing and talking about tv shows you watched after dad went to bed. On Fourth of July everyone missed your specialty mini fruit cheesecakes. I love you and I miss you.

Mom, It is hard to believe it has been a year since you left us. I miss you so much,  our weekly lunches together, taking jewelry classes together, your special touches to every party and event. You left us far too suddenly and much too soon but I know you are looking over us. I love you. ❤️

Every memory I have of Elaine is at family gatherings, and her contagious laugh and smile. When I was young, they were many gatherings at Dot and Bill Ashton‘s house, and it left me with a deep affection for all of their children. May her soul rest in peace. 

My dear friend Elaine. Thank you for being in my life and allowing me to be in yours. I have beautiful memories of all we did preparing the dinners for the Southampton Fire Co fundraisers, our camping trips, our many parties some themed and some just made up our New Year's Eve parties that extended into New Year's Day, and raising our children. I know that it warmed your heart that your sons Joey and David still keep in touch with the girls who were "their sisters". And of course, who could forget Showtime '76? Remember the night I came up to your sister Elsie's house and we sat around the campfire? 
You helped make life fun. You put a caring generous side on everything you were involved in. All of us, your sons Joey, and David, your sister Elsie, friends Frank, Fran, Dave, Pattie, me, Dottie & Larry (who I'm sure you and he are laughing up a storm in heaven) I am grateful that God saw fit to bring us all together and keep us together for more than 50 years. Give your Mom and Dad a big hug for me.

For our dear friend, Elaine. We have such wonderful memories of all the amazing things you did especially with our Southampton Fire Company events and camping adventures! Your talented, creative  arts and crafts work that you did tirelessly for so many occasions like our Eagle's victory gathering on the corner of the Pike and Street Road - so special. Your kindness to my Mom including her with these special times. (Please be sure to give her a big hug and kiss from me.) The beautiful thing about these  special days were that they included the whole family, like our Fire Company group with our parents and children. You shared your deep love for Joey and David with all of us and the love for family spread through the group.  Then there were our get togethers  for New Year's Eve with baby New Year and then back again with your Mom and Dad on New Year's Day breakfast with Mr. A's incredible sticky buns! Elaine, you and your family have a special place in our hearts. One day with God's will we will all meet and continue with heavenly celebrations! 

I had written this to be read at the service yesterday, but sadly, there was no sharing or speaking time allowed during the service.  The obituary written does not do Elaine justice.

Elaine, your zest for life was undeniable.  Your love for your sons, Joey and Dave was also undeniable.  You raised your sons to be kind, strong, helpful and fiercely loyal to those they love.  You loved your visits and spending time with them no matter what or how short the time spent together was.  
You were a caring and supportive mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother.  You were incredibly proud of your family and they adored you.  You were always so thoughtful - never forgetting a birthday, holiday or just reaching out to say hello. 
Elaine loved and was proud to be involved with the Southampton Fire Company back in the good old days.  I know that you made so many close friends with that group.  You loved to camp, knit, bake for any occasion and loved watching the Eagles games.  I know you also had a lot of fun with your friends from the Seniors Center and the trips you took with them.  
Elsie, Joey and Dave - I know that all you wanted to do was help her in her final week.  Despite everything that was happening - your strength in dealing with this and everything else was undeniable.  I am sure she loved and was thankful for all those who were able to visit with her.  There were a few laughs in there, going down memory lane and quite a lot of tears.  
I am sorry you are no longer here but I am certain that you are flying high -  FREE -  free of suffering - free of pain and free of the cancer that took you from us.
The Lord was certainly waiting on you with wide open arms as you are a saint!  Fly high Mom!  Laugh and be the person you are up there -  you sure as hell deserve it!  
We will miss  you incredibly but until we meet again ALL of our love is with you always!  xoxoxo


Dearest Elaine … so glad we all got together for Brunch in February … had we known it would be our last Cousin Lunch I would have lingered longer. We have so much history growing up .. many giggles and many wonderful memories. Rest in Peace dear cousin and know you are loved !!!

Elaine was my sister in law. She was nice and loved her boys and all of her nieces and nephews. We were in laws only for a short while. But I still referred to her as my sister in law. When we meet in the stores we would hug like we were family still . You will be missed . No more pain in your ankles. Love and hugs your sister in law Rosemary Ashton derhofer

Elaine loved to get out and have a good time.  Whether just visiting her family and her friends, she'd have a ball and just wanted to laugh. 
I know that you will miss her but you have to remember the fun Elaine and the good times you had together!  

Elaine you will be missed!    I know you are no longer suffering and you are in peace.  Our hearts break that we won't hear your laugh or see your smile, but we have that in our hearts and memory!  




We were so sorry to hear of Doris' passing. Doris was our neighbor and welcomed us to the neighborhood with open arms. I remember how excited she was when we put the lighthouse in front of both of our houses and how much she loved it (way more than the tree that was there). She was so lovely to talk to. She always had a smile on her face. We will miss chatting with her and pass our deepest condolences on to Joe and the rest of her family.  Rest in peace Doris.

I want to mention how much her boys, Joey and David will miss her. They were always on her mind too. 

So many many memories. Through Southampton fire company, camping, parties, new years eves and new years days. She will be missed. Such a gracious lady. She'd give the shirt off her back. Rest in peace. My kids always remember her as Aunt Elaine.
