Eddie graduated from Union Catholic High School in Scotch Plains, NJ and headed off to Mansfield University. After a fun ride he returned home and concentrated on his band which not only focused on creating music but lifelong friendships and memories - including meeting his wife after the guitarist and best friend invited her to a show. Their love was one for a Hallmark movie, their souls connected in this life together and blossomed into a beautiful family.
Ed found his way into Property Management while working for AT&T. His career continued and grew as he always took every opportunity to learn more. He graduated with honors from Raritan Valley Community College as well as earning numerous professional designations. At Voice Systems Engineering Inc. he found a work family that truly appreciated his go-above-and-beyond attitude.
Eddie was an artist and created his own company, Flying Feather Designs, where he repurposed wood and created masterpieces. A lucky few have been gifted a master walking stick or dreamcatcher. Everything he designed was made with thoughtful love and attention to detail. Much like the “Little Mermaid” he had a collection of gadgets and gizmos a plenty, and whoozits and whatsits galore. We laugh but his resourcefulness often came in handy and he was proud to be a card- carrying member of the Handyman Club of America! And we all lost our handyman, as he could quite literally fix anything!
Eddie was very proud of his role as a youth soccer coach for the Amazing Blue Lightning team, where his “cartwheel” rewards drove the girls to strive for their best.
Eddie also volunteered as Machine Inspector for elections. He believed in the democratic process and could talk for hours about politics and ways to make this world a better place.
Ed and his family enjoyed many adventures together and they all found a lake in Maine to be their happy place. Hiking, camping, fishing, paddling, cycling, searching for Sasquatch, and star gazing filled his heart and soul with pure joy.
He loved being a soccer dad and a band parent, but his most proud role was being a “girls-dad”. He was so proud of not just their many achievements but the drive, dedication, and perseverance that led to their accomplishments. Although humble he never shied away from bragging about his girls.
Please join Ed’s family in celebrating his life on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, from 4pm-7pm at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Rd. Levittown, PA 19056.
