Edwin Francis Lutz, Jr.

Born in Philadelphia to Edwin Francis and Catherine Margaret (Hegarty) Lutz, Mr. Lutz was a life long resident of the city where he was a long time member of St. William parish and graduated from North Catholic High School.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and then enlisted in the Navy Reserves until retiring after 42 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Kensington Post #63.

Mr. Lutz worked in maintenance at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia for many years until retiring.

Beloved husband of the late Jane Elizabeth (Boyd), Mr. Lutz was the loving father of Jane Chalfant (Dave) and Edwin Francis Lutz III (Kim).

He was the devoted grandfather of Heather, James, Dana, Brittany and Ahren and great grandfather of Isabelle, Adeline, Autumn and Summer.

Family and friends are invited to call from 8:45 until 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 10th at St. William Church, 6200 Rising Sun Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19111 where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. William Church.
