Eleanor R. DeSerio

Eleanor R. De Serio of Levittown died on Thursday, March 17, 2011 surrounded by her family. Born in Hackensack, NJ, Mrs. De Serio was an original Levittown homeowner residing in Bristol Township for the past 58 years. She was very family oriented and will be lovingly remembered as a wonderful sister, aunt, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend. Ele, as she was known to those closest to her, loved to do crossword puzzles. She spent many summers at the shore with her family and friends. Ele loved sitting on the beach and conversing with all of these people. This was her favorite sport talking. While traditional sports werent high on her list of priorities, she would endure the games for the love of tailgating with her family and friends. Ele was a friend to everyone and was a woman of strong conviction and moral character who always did things her way. Mrs. De Serio was the beloved wife of the late Raymond J. De Serio. She was the loving mother of Susan E. De Serio, Barbara A. De Serio of Chambersburg, PA, Cathy M. and her husband Joseph Mari of Eastampton, NJ, Karen J. De Serio and her late husband Harry J. Slagle of Flemington, NJ, Carol A. and her husband Greg Lambard of Yardley, Bonita Mehta of Plantation, FL and Ashu Mehta of Fairless Hills. She was the devoted grandmother of Kelly and Travis Rhine, Lauren, Ashley, Kristen, and Joe Mari, Christopher and Lindsey Slagle and Calli Lambard and the great grandmother of Alexis Kauffman. She will be sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. at the James J Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Her memorial service will be held on Monday 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment is private.
