

Elmer Richard Desloges of Levittown died on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at his home. He was 87.Born in Lynn, MA, Richard went in to the U.S. Navy after high school and served for 2 years. After his discharge he worked for a few years and then joined the U.S. Army where he served as a rifleman in the Korean War. He was wounded in battle and received a Purple Heart. He spent 9 months in the hospital, was sent back to Massachusetts and then finished out his tour at Ft. Dix.Richard met his wife, Dolores, at a USO Dance and they were happily married for 60 years residing in Levittown for most of their lives.He worked as a repairman with AT&T for 37 years until retiring.He was a great artist and especially enjoyed painting. He also liked doing puzzles.Mr. Desloges was the beloved husband of the late Dolores Desloges.He is the loving father of Deborah Mitchell and Michael Desloges (Tish) and the devoted grandfather of Jennifer, Ryan, Michael, Nicholas and Elaina.He will also be missed by 5 great grandchildren; his brother Arthur Desloges (Lucille); sister Josephine Coggin (Bill); and many cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends around the country.Family and friends are invited to call from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1st, at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his funeral service will be held at 8 p.m.
