She was the beloved wife of Malcolm Patchell for 64 years; the loving mother of Sarah DeGennaro (David), Christine Lappin (Michael), Robert Patchell (Lisa), Jennifer Tasker (Thomas), Kathleen McEntegart (Bryan) and Julie Shea (Lawrence); loving grandmother to 15 (Robert, Bethany (JR), Dana, David (Krystal), Julia (Ward), Celeste (Hunter), Conner (Jesse), Abigail, Nicholas, Grace, Reilly, Hayden, Brenden, Kane and Cameron); loving great grandmother to 11 (D’Anna, RJ (Hallie), Amara, Logan, Cameron, Brock, Bo, Addison, Aubree, Malcolm, Owen); the devoted daughter of the late Wilson Rose Taylor and Sarah Ann Taylor (Hodder); dear sister to late Wilson George Taylor (Hannah) and late John Joseph Taylor (Yvonne). She was also beloved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and fur-babies.
Born in Port au Bras, Newfoundland, Canada, Emma met Malcolm while he was stationed in Newfoundland with the USAF. They married and returned to the States, and Emma worked hard to become a naturalized US citizen. They moved around, but settled in Fairless Hills, PA, where they remained since 1970. She was a retired housekeeper from the Fairless Hills YMCA.
Emma was one of the kindest souls you could meet. She was generous to a fault, self-less, witty, intuitive and funny. She enjoyed scratching lottery tickets, casino bus trips to Atlantic City with her friend, Shirley, babysitting her grandkids, listening to country and gospel music, watching the Phillies play, spending the day shopping at the Oxford Valley Mall, watching game shows, and playing Crosswords and Word Searches. She especially loved attending parties at her kids’ houses and even partook in some karaoke fun.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Emma's life Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM followed by a funeral service at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, Pennsylvania 19056.
