George Cornelius Rehm, age 77, passed away on September 11, 2025 at Chandler Hall Health Services in Newtown, PA. He was a long-time resident of Glenolden, PA, and he and his wife had resided in Langhorne, PA for the past 10 years.
George was born in Philadelphia, PA, to parents, Paul Edward Rehm and Rose Mary Rehm (Twohig). He graduated from West Catholic High School in 1965. George continued his education, taking courses at Temple University, and he went on to establish a career as Controller/Accountant for a variety of small businesses, his time at the famed Horn & Hardart leaving him with a fond nostalgia for the automat and tapioca pudding.
George married his best friend and the love of his life, Kathy, on April 24, 1976, and he deeply cherished the more than 50 years that they shared together, from travels abroad to England, Ireland, Germany, and France, to day-to-day moments at home sharing meals and watching their favorite programs together. Kathy was his #1: first, last, and always.
George’s many talents were a blessing to those around him. He was a very handy man, and in younger years spent much of his spare time working in his basement wood shop building furniture or renovating entire rooms in the home himself. He was the master at building little odds and ends to maximize storage when you didn’t think you had any more room to fit anything. You name it, he could figure out how to fix it (except the plumbing): he was Kathy’s “MacGyver.” When personal computing started becoming more common in the 80’s, George experimented with programming as a hobby, later developing a love for spreadsheets, his clickity-click dexterity on the adding machine being an asset on the numerical keypad. Later in life he became very interested in ancestry, thoroughly researching connections with long lost relatives and building out a detailed history of the family. Like his father, Paul, and his sister, Judy, he knew his way around the kitchen, his chili and lasagna being family favorites.
George was a kind, sometimes quiet, principled man, with a dry sense of humor. He was a good friend and neighbor, always ready to give someone a ride, fix something, or check in on them when there might be a time of need. He was reserved at times, but when you got him talking about any of his passions, he was sharp, thorough, and knowledgeable, especially when it came to politics. He cared deeply about his country and the values he believed in.
George was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Rose, his sister Judy, and his brothers John and Paul.
George is survived by his wife Kathleen Rehm (Gallagher), his son Paul (Kelly), grandchildren Ruby, Violet, and Luka, sisters Rosemary and Paula, sister-in-law Terri, and his beloved nieces and their families.
Family, friends, and others are invited to gather at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 246 Hulmeville Ave, Langhorne, PA 19047 between 9:45 am and 11 am on Saturday, October 4, 2025, for an 11 am service to celebrate and honor George’s life, to be followed by an inurnment at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne, PA.
