Glenn Robert Zadnik

Glenn Robert (Bob) Zadnik, age 81, of Fairless Hills, died peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Aria-Bucks Hospital. Born and raised in Sunnyside, PA, he graduated in 1948 from Monessan High School in Monessan, PA. He has been a resident of Fairless Hills since 1952 and was a member of St. Frances Cabrini parish. He served in the U.S. Navy-6th Fleet on the USS Vesole DD/DDR878 from 1948 to 1952. After serving in the Navy, Mr. Zadnik worked at United States Steel from 1952 until 1986. He started as a laborer and retired as as general foreman in the transportation department. Mr. Zadnik also worked as an assistant manager for the SamEric Fairless Hills and the SamEric Penn Jersey movie theaters in the 1970's and early 1980's. After retiring from U.S. Steel, he worked at Po Folks Restaurant in Fairless Hills (where he was known as "Mr. Z.") until its closing in 1993. He then enjoyed retirement by always keeping busy, spending time with family and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. In earlier years, he also enjoyed playing softball and bowling. Mr. Zadnik was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Anna Mae Dubovsky Zadnik, a brother, Frank Eugene Zadnik and parents, Frank and Elizabeth Zadnik He is the loving father of Valerie Tenaglia and her husband, Albert of Fairless Hills and Brian Zadnik and his wife Jennifer of Morrisville. He is the devoted grandfather of Chad Tenaglia, Ivy Lynne, Dawson, Jordan and Kalianne Zadnik. He will also be sadly missed by many other family members and friends. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 325 S. Oxford Valley Rd., Fairless Hills where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
