Harold Grant

Harold R. Grant of Yardley passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 16, 2017 with his family by his side. He was 80.Born in Schenectady, NY, Harold was raised in Port Henry, NY where he graduated from Port Henry High School in 1954. He moved to Lower Bucks County in 1974 and was a member of St. Ignatius of Antioch parish.He was a proud U.S. Army veteran.Harold took great pride in his work. For 50 years he managed and led many projects in construction and development related areas.He was an avid sports enthusiast and participated in many sports in his earlier years. More recently he took great pleasure in attending his grandchildren's sporting events, where he was the biggest and loudest fan .He will be lovingly remembered as a great story teller and conversationalist.Mr. Grant is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Eleanor R. Grant (nee Baxter) and his loving children Michael J. Grant (Celeste), Karen E. Taddei (Edward), Linda M. Stitt (Jeff) and Rita A. Jenkins (the late Troy).He was the devoted grandfather of Harold Grant II (Ashley), Amanda Bennett (David), Michael J. Grant Jr. (Gwen), Liz Taddei, Benjamin Grant, Emily Taddei, Christopher Grant, Jeffrey Stitt Jr., Eddie Taddei III, Jocelyn and Olivia Jenkins and is the great grandfather of Carter and Charlotte Grant.He is also survived by his brother John A. Grant and sister-in-law, Dorothy Wilber.Family and friends are invited to call from 6 until 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Ignatius Church, 999 Reading Ave., Yardley. Interment is private. There are no calling hours on Wednesday prior to the Mass.
