Herbert E. ZimmermanHerbert E. Zimmerman, age 94, of Fairless Hills, died on Monday, October 17, 2016 at his home.Born in Harrisburg, Mr. Zimmerman resided in Altoona before moving to Fairless Hills in 1952. He was employed with U.S. Steel Fairless Works as a machinist for 32 years until his retirement in 1986. He enjoyed walking, golfing, reading and classical music.Mr. Zimmerman is the beloved husband of the late Vernelda (nee Richardson) Zimmerman and the father of the late Elaine Deahr. He is survived by his loving son, Mark Zimmerman (Kathleen) of Morrisville. Mr. Zimmerman is the devoted grandfather of Leeann Montonario (Anthony), Mark Zimmerman (Nicole), Thomas Zimmerman, and Wayne Evert; and great grandfather of Dylan, Skylar, Ryan, Myla, Evan and Isabelle.Mr. Zimmerman is the brother of Elaine Mercer of Springfield, VA, Richard Zimmerman of Fairless Hills and the late Anita Spiers of Mogadore, OH. He will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.Family and friends are invited to attend his graveside service on Thursday morning, at 11:00 am in Forest Hills Cemetery, Philmont and Byberry Road, Philadelphia, PA.
