James Alfred Freund Sr.

James Alfred Freund, Sr. passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, January 22, 2018.Born in Trenton, NJ and formerly of the Hamilton area, Mr. Freund has been a resident of Morrisville for the last 17 years.He spent most of his career working for General Motors as a Shop Operator. After his retirement, he was with Henry J. Austin Health Center from 2000 until 2012.Mr. Freund was a member of the Providence Presbyterian Church in Florence, NJ, where he was a choir member.He also delivered meals on wheels for the Morrisville Senior Center.Jim's passion was singing, performing in plays and in the opera. He was a part of countless performances in the Bucks County and New Jersey area with various theater groups for over 50 years.He was an avid dog lover.Beloved husband of MaryLou (Richards), Jim is the loving father of Deborah Wright (Richard), Cynthia Freund, James A. Freund Jr., Brenda Perkins (Stephen) and Janice Norton (Dennis).He is the devoted grandfather of 15; proud great grandfather of 8; dear brother of Mary Lou Dickinson; and stepfather of Catherine Howell (Christopher).He was predeceased by his stepdaughter, Jennifer Gancarz.Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm.
