Born in Philadelphia, the daughter of Joan Mary (Griffith) and William Littleton, Joan has been a long time resident of Lower Bucks County and was a member of Saint Mark Parish, Bristol.
She enjoyed people to the fullest and was always glad to entertain you with a good story, give a helping hand or share her wonderful sense of humor.
She was an exceptional Human Resources Manager for Medical Products Laboratories for four years before her illness took hold in 2017. It was not uncommon for Joan to go the extra mile for her employees and colleagues and when she put her mind to it, she could do almost anything. In fact she helped almost 200 employees, many of them friends, receive their 1st raise in 3 and a 1/2 years. Needless to say, they all loved her.
She volunteered her time to help others.
She enjoyed painting and doing crafts, taking pictures and gardening. She loved the beach and family game nights. Joan loved people, especially her family.
Beloved wife of 30 years to Brian Howell, Joan is the loving mother of John Heaton (Patti), Kevin and Sarah Howell; and the devoted grandmother of Courtney, Madison, Bailey, Nick and Brian.
She is the dear sister of Cindy Coyle-Barile (Tony) and Terry Mallon (Chris); daughter-in-law of Ray and Nancy Howell; sister-in-law of Becky Cole (Carl), Barbara Cafferty (Don) and Bruce Howell (Paulette).
Joan will also be sadly missed by her Cousin Joyce who was of great support in her last days; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her best friend since birth, Linda Moore.
Family and friends are all invited to be with her, to share thoughts stories and prayers on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 1:30 until 4:30 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown.
Interment will be held privately.
