Joan was born in Philadelphia, PA, to parents, John and Helen Dawson. She graduated from John W. Hallahan Catholic High School for Girls. She went on to establish a career as an administrative assistant in finance.
In her free time, Joan enjoyed gardening, reading and playing pinochle. She was also an avid member of the Four Lanes End Garden Club.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Jack Dawson and Robert Dawson (Mary), and her brothers-in-law Patrick Norris and James.
Joan is survived by her husband Maurice J. Norris; his son Maurice J. Norris III; her brother Gerald Dawson (Dolly); her sister-in-laws: Jean Dawson, Helen Norris, Suzanne Norris, and Elizabeth Norris; her brother-in-law Edward Norris (Helen); and many nieces and nephews.
A viewing for Joan will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Queen of the Universe, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, Pennsylvania 19056, followed by funeral mass at 11:30 AM, and burial at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan’s name may be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation or Poor Clares of the Franciscan Monastery of Saint Clare Langhorne, PA.
