JoAnn E. Klein, age 71, of Bristol, PA , passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2015, following a brief illness. JoAnn was born in Bristol, PA on May 26, 1944, the daughter of the late Peter Firce and Jane (Mikolajczyk) Firce. She was a 1962 graduate of Bishop Egan High School. As a lifelong Bucks County resident, JoAnn lived in both Bristol Borough and Landreth Manor (Bristol Township). Landreth Manor was where she raised her family and resided for the past 43 years. JoAnn worked for Red Rope Industries in Bristol and then the Lenox Corporation in Langhorne until her retirement in 2006. This is where she met her dear friends Eleanor and Judy. JoAnn had a passion for gardening and her House Wrens, Hummingbirds, and butterflies always brought her joy when they returned each spring. She loved the ocean and the beach and dreamed of living by the sea. She was also a frequent customer of Hallmark and may have single handedly kept them in business. Although these things brought her happiness, her biggest joy was her family. JoAnn is the loving mother of Karen L. Schaffer and her husband, James of Yardley, Kris Klein of Bristol, Frederick T. Klein III of Bristol, and Eric J. Klein and his partner Chaz Armstrong of Manahawkin, NJ. She is the grandmother of Kelsea and James Schaffer and Bryan Hilgar. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Green of Levittown and her brother, Peter Firce of Edgely and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to celebrate JoAnn at a Funeral Mass at St. Marks Church on Radcliffe Street in Bristol on Tuesday, July 28. Calling hours are from 9:00am-10:00am with the mass to follow starting at 10:00am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Chandler Hall Hospice- 99 Barclay Street, Newtown, PA 18940 or Silver Lake Nature Center- 1306 Bath Road, Bristol, PA 19007.
