

John R. Brazil John R. "Jack" Brazil died surrounded by his loving family at his side, on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at his home in Levittown. He was 89. Born and raised in Scranton, the son of the late John and Ethel (Barrett) Brazil, he had attended Scranton Tech High School. Mr. Brazil was an original Levittown homeowner residing in Bristol Township for 60 years and also an original member of Saint Michael the Archangel Parish, Levittown. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Saint Joseph the Worker Council #4215, Saint John Neumann Assembly. Until his retirement in 1987, he was a Roller Operator for US Steel, Fairless Works for 35 years. Mr. Brazil served proudly in the US Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He spent nearly 50 years at his lake house on Lake Ariel, PA and enjoyed playing a round of golf every day. Mr. Brazil was a huge fan of the Eagles as well as the Phillies. Beloved husband of 63 years to Marlene (Jones), Mr. Brazil was the loving father of Carol Ann Gieda (Tom) of Levittown, Judy Maier (Jeff) of Dalton, PA, John Brazil (Deb) and Phil Brazil (LInda) all of Levittown. He was the devoted grandfather of Jessica, Shannon, Colleen, Sherrie, Katie, Phil, Jackie, Matt and Bridget and the proud great grandfather of Brielle and Brooklyn. He will also be sadly missed by several nieces an nephews. Jack's family wishes to thank Nancy and Carolyn, of Heartland Hospice, for all of their loving and compassionate care. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, from 10:00 until 11:30 am at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am. The Rite of Committal will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Conwell Egan Catholic High School, Tuition Assistance Program, 611 Wistar Road, Fairless Hills, PA 19030.
