

John L. Deininger John L. Deininger died, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Chandler Hall Hospice. He was 78. Born and raised in the Kensington Section of Philadelphia, he has been a Falls Township resident for 54 years. Mr. Deininger was a member of the Levittown Christian Church. He spent most of his working career as a carpenter with Worthington Construction until he retired in 2006. John enjoyed playing his guitar for the residents at Pickering Manor Nursing Home, while his brother and best friend played along on the banjo. He will be remembered as a man who helped his family, friends and church whenever needed and was always eager to make repairs around the house. Beloved husband of 56 years to Jean (Unger), Mr. Deininger was the loving father of Colleen Mitchneck (Jim), Deborah Brown (late Tim), Karen Schappell (Ken), Robert (Paula) and the late John S. He was the devoted grandfather of 12; proud great grandfather of 4; and the brother of Fred Deininger (Loretta), Louise Arnold (late Winfred), Florence Kojeszewski (Michael) and the late Jeanette. He will also be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews, and the Unger family. John's family would like to extend a special thank you to the members of their church, especially his brother Fred, Bill and Becky for all the love, care and support extended to them during John's illness. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, from 3:00 until 5:00 pm and on Monday from 9:30 until 10:30 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his funeral service will be held at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's name may be made to the Levittown Christian Church, 1481 Frosty Hollow Road, Levittown, PA 19056.
