John P. Ryn

John P. Ryn John P. Ryn died on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia. He was 66. Born and raised in Scranton, John was the son of the late John and Frances (Quinn) Ryn and was a graduate of Cathedral High School in 1963. Until his retirement in 1994, John was a Police Officer for Tullytown Boro for 27 years. He was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Parish, Levittown and while on the Tullytown Police Force, was in charge of the police detail for the annual carnival. John was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 53. He will be remembered as a family man and good provider. John was well known and admired by all he had served in his community . After his retirement John, worked as a night supervisor for the former Food Rite in Levittown and held several other positions including a security guard with Guards Mark in Willingboro, NJ. Beloved husband of 18 years to Connie M., John is the loving father of Kyle J. (Frances Marie) of Clifton Heights, PA, Craig A. of St. Louis, MO, Brandon J. and Nick J. at home; the stepfather of Ashley E. Billick at home and Joseph Moors of Yardley and the brother of Charles Ryn (J.J.) of Manassas, VA and Patricia Jenkins of Scranton. He will also be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, 7:00 until 9:00 pm and on Saturday, 8:15 until 9:15 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown 19056. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 10:00 am at Saint Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to Connie Ryn for the Ryn children's education fund, c/o James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. at the above address.
