Joseph Weisenberger Sr., affectionately known as Joe, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, craftsmanship, and devotion to family. A longtime resident of Levittown, Pennsylvania, Joe was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, and friend whose life was defined by hard work, generosity, and quiet wisdom.
Born in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, Joe moved with his parents and brother to the North Park section of Levittown in 1952. He graduated from Pennsbury High School in 1959, laying the foundation for a life marked by dedication and perseverance. In 1961, Joe proudly joined the United States Air Force, where he earned recognition as an expert marksman and served as a Jet Engine Mechanic. His military service reflected the same discipline, skill, and sense of responsibility that he carried throughout his life. Joe worked in several professions over the years, including security, trucking and transportation, and construction. No matter the role, he was known as a reliable, hardworking provider who always put his family first.
Family was the center of Joe’s world. He was married to his beloved wife, Marie Weisenberger, for 62 years. Together, they raised three children and built a life filled with love, tradition, and unwavering support. Joe took immense pride in his growing family, cherishing his seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him great joy.
A man of many talents and interests, Joe had a lifelong love of aviation and proudly flew real planes as well as model remote-control aircraft. He and Marie enjoyed boating and the beach, spending their winters at their vacation homes in Bethany Beach, Delaware, and later in Ellenton, Florida. Joe also played the mandolin and guitar, and had a talent for working with his hands. Joe could build nearly anything—from porches to musical instruments—and was always eager to share his skills and knowledge with others.
Joe was a devoted member of St. Joseph the Worker Church until its closure and later attended St. Michael the Archangel Church. He was also a proud Fourth-Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, living his faith through service, loyalty, and compassion.
Those who knew Joe will remember him as a man of integrity, kindness, humor, and resilience. He was a source of wisdom to family and friends, always willing to lend a hand or offer guidance. His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the love he gave, and the family he so deeply cherished.
