June K Davish (nee McCloskey), age 94, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026. Born on June 2, 1931 in Philadelphia, she lived a long life marked by love, perseverance in spite of what life threw at her, and unbridled devotion to her family.
June was known for her kindness, strength, sense of humor, faith, generosity and for the quiet way she made everyone feel welcome and cared for. She worked at Mead West for many years until her retirement. After her retirement, she enjoyed playing Nintendo Wii, watching Law & Order, and turning any pool day with her grandchildren into pure joy. She loved to dance, had an undeniable sweet tooth—especially for Tastykakes—and never missed a chance to play with the dogs. June had a mischievous sparkle too: a little flirting with younger men, a thrill for amusement park rides, and a perfectly mixed 7 & 7 always close by. Our mom never had much money but knew how to enjoy life in all the best ways. She lived with laughter, warmth, and forgiveness in her heart—and that’s how we’ll always remember her. She was the beloved mother to Edward (Marianne) and Roger (Syretta), a grandmother to 7, and a great-grandmother to 7. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured and the love she gave so freely.
She was preceded in death by husband Edward Young, second husband, Francis Davish, her 7 siblings and her parents.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 p.m. with a service at 1:00 p.m. at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown PA 19056.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Dementia Society of America or Colon Cancer Coalition, in her memory.
