Leo R. Pavonarius

Leo R. Pavonarius died on Friday, November 17, 2017. He was 86 years old.Raised in Burholme section of Philadelphia, he was son of the late Leo and Anna (Lindsley) Pavonarius.Leo was the beloved husband of the late Vivian Helen Pavonarius (Geiger). He is also preceded in death by his son Richard L. Pavonarius, a sister Beulah “Boots” Narducci, and his brothers Frank Weimann, Fr. John Pavonarius, Thomas Pavonarius and Charles Pavonarius.Leo is survived by his children, Michael (Marie) Pavonarius. Diane Gawlinski, Kathleen Pavonarius, Eileen (Stephen) Forman and Mark (Kathy) Pavonarius, as well as his five grandsons, Patrick, Adam (Steph), Alex (Leah), Jordan and Andrew.He is also survived by his sister, Sister Mary Pavonarius and sister-in-law, Fran Pavonarius.It is said it takes a village to raise children, well at times it takes a village to care for the elderly. Leo was blessed to have many, friends and neighbors who would keep an eye out for him, including an occasional doctor appointment, shoveling his sidewalks or just stopping by to make sure he is ok. The Pavonarius family is eternally grateful for Leo's village.Leo was a proud original Levittown owner and just recently celebrated his 60th year Levittown home anniversary by giving out the “large” candy bars to trick or treaters.Leo worked from a very young age providing for his family, including many years as a sheet metal worker and member of Local 19 in Philadelphia before retiring in 1991.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 10 AM-11 AM at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown where his Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Beechwood Cemetery, Bensalem Blvd, Bensalem.In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Woodhaven Center, C/O NHS Human Services Foundation, 620 East Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444.
