
Lucy C. Ball died on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Aria Frankford Hospice after a long illness. She was 85. Beloved wife of the late Michael W. Sr., Lucy is the loving mother of Michael Ball, Jr.; Deborah Enders (Rich); R. Kevin Ball (Diane); Eric Ball (June); and Kimberly Daily. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters, Helen Prysbylka of Dunmore; Elizabeth Verrastro of Bethlehem; her brother, Frank DiVizio of Dixon City and her grandchildren, Andrea Ball Tooley; Allyson and Jeff Enders; Lauren and David Ball; Ryan and Daniel Ball; and Alexandra and Connor Daily. Lucy was an original Levittown homeowner, moving there in 1954. When she was well she loved to play the nickel slot machines at the casinos. Lucy was a terrific baker and one of her many specialties were her Zucchini brownies. She was a baseball and football fan and often was found watching the Phillies and Eagles play. One of her favorite things was spending time with her grandchildren. She loved when they stopped by to spend time with Nanny. She was not only Nanny to her grandchildren, but to many other people who were in her life. She was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary. Lucy worked in the cafeteria at Conwell-Egan Catholic High School, Fairless Hills for many years. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, 7:00 until 9:00 pm and again on Monday, 8:30 until 9:30 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown 19056. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am at Saint Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown. Rite of Committal to follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions in her name be made to the American Lung Association, 525 Plymouth Road, Suite 315, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
