Margaret R. Greiner

Margaret R. "Rita" (Frederick) Greiner, age 87, of Fairless Hills, died on Thursday, September 25, 2014 AT her home surrounded by her family. Born and raised in Altoona, PA, she was a 1945 graduate of Altoona High School. Mrs. Greiner has been an original Fairless Hills homeowner since 1952 and a founding member of Saint Frances Cabrini Parish, where she had served as a President of the former Ladies Guild. She was active with the Senior Group at Saint Frances Cabrini and was an avid bingo player and crossword puzzle enthusiast. Mrs. Greiner had always been a very independent woman. She enjoyed playing Wii on Saturdays with her friends. Most important to her was the love for her entire family. Mrs. Greiner was the beloved wife of the late Regis F. Greiner. She is the loving mother of Mary Leckner (Charles) of Warminter, Peggy Wilson (Fred) of Browns Mills, NJ, John Greiner (Patricia) of Ocean City, MD, Dennis Greiner (Trudie) of Fairless Hills, and Christine Moore (Bob) of Levittown. Mrs. Greiner will also be sadly missed by her 17 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; her brothers, Bernard and Robert Frederick of Altoona; her sisters, Imelda Ayers and Teresa Rothrauff of Altoona; sister-in-law, Mary Frederick; many nieces and nephews; and also, very good friends and Wii partners, Ethel and Ceil. She was predeceased by her parents, 2 brothers and a sister. The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice for the loving care they provided to Mrs. Greiner. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, from 8:00 until 9:30 am at Saint Frances Cabrini Church, 325 South Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills, where her funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am. The Rite of Committal will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to Saint Frances Cabrini Parish at the above address.
