Maria Pompili

Born on November 13, 1939, in Montevideo, Uruguay. Maria was a gifted piano professor before moving to the United States, where she worked as a deli manager for many years. She proudly became an American Citizen with her husband Luigi. Later, she retired and devoted herself to helping raise her beloved granddaughter, Nicole.

Maria is survived by her son, Lou Pompili, granddaughter, Nicole Pompili Ryan , grandson-in-law, Aydan Ryan, and great-granddaughter, Gabriella. She was deeply cherished by loved ones Marianne Ploskonka and Lisa Prazeres, as well as Brother in Law Valentino Pompili , Sister in Law Albaluz Diaz Ortiz and niece Fanny Diaz.

Maria and her husband, Luigi (“Gino”), shared a deep passion for travel. Together, they explored almost every continent and embarked on numerous cruises around the world. Yet, their greatest joy was their granddaughter, Nicole, whom they lovingly helped raise from birth. Today, Nicole carries that love forward as a mother to their precious great-granddaughter, Gabriella.

In accordance with Maria’s wishes, there will be no formal services. She never wanted tears or sadness in anyone’s homes or hearts—only smiles in remembrance of her infectious joy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at :

Affectionately known as "Mom-Mom," Maria lived an incredible life filled with love, adventure, and generosity. She found joy in her family, her travels with her husband Gino and family, and the happiness she brought to those around her. As we honor her memory, let us remember her smile, and smile as well….just as she would have wanted.
