Born in Bristol, PA to Arthur and Yvonne Laycock. Mary lived her life in Bucks County, living in Levittown until she graduated high school. She later moved to Fallsington, eventually settling down in Morrisville.
Mary was a loving spirit and always followed her heart. She had a variety of different occupations over the years, but she particularly loved her time as an art teacher, teaching and nurturing young children art and self-expression. She also truly enjoyed her job as a dog walker as she had so much affection for animals.
A woman of many passions, Mary loved the creative arts most of all. She found joy in painting and drawing, and she was inspired by music.
Most of all, Mary was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and daughter. Family was paramount to everything else. She adored and doted on her grandchildren, Faith, Hope, and Cam. Spending time with family & friends was more important to her than anything else. She treasured her time looking after her grandchildren, affording her the opportunity to spend time with them while allowing her beloved daughter Janis to spend quality time with her husband Sean. Mary’s selflessness & whole hearted kindness and giving nature endeared her to all who knew her.
Mary is survived by her loving daughter, Janis Mary (Laycock) Gilmore (Sean), her cherished grandchildren Faith, Hope, and Cam Gilmore, her mother Yvonne (Hosgood) Laycock, her sister Carrie (Laycock) Talone (Jim), and her nieces Abigail and Keira Talone.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Laycock, and her sister Helen Laycock.
Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 1pm – 3pm at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown, where a memorial service will be held in Mary’s honor at 3pm. Interment will be private.
