Nursing Home in Langhorne at the age of 78. Mary was a breast cancer survivor of
over 15 years. You would never hear one complaint from this beautiful soul even
through the most difficult of circumstances that would bring most of us to our knees.
Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Mary married Anthony Salvatore and moved to
Southwest Philadelphia where they raised their two daughters.
Mary was a very active congregate in St. Barnabas parish, she not only prepared meals for home bound
parishioners, she was also a library aide in the elementary school. Mary was a devout
Catholic who was a member of the Legion of Mary. Sweet Mary could always be
seen with a pair of rosary beads in her hand saying prayers for everyone but herself.
Her selflessness and generosity were extremely well known as said best by a long-
time neighbor on Shields St. “If Mary doesn’t go to heaven then there is no heaven.”
Mary and Anthony just recently celebrated 53 years of marriage. Mary was the loving
mother of Lisa Salvatore and Monica Wilhelm (Jeff) as well as the kind and gentle
grandmother of Kevin O'Brien and Joseph and Vincent Wilhelm.
Mary was predeceased by her sister Alice Berstler and will be sadly missed by her
sister Joanne Iannelli and her nephews, Rob (Makeda) and Dave Hoover.
Services and interment will be held privately.
