Orella Magdziak

Orella Magdziak, of Levittown, died on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Aria Health Bucks County Campus. The gentle matriarch of a grateful family, she lived to the age of 94. Mrs. Magdziak, the daughter of John and Stephania Dominick, was born in Passaic, NJ and was graduated from Passaic High School in 1933. She went on to study at the New Jersey State Teachers College, and earned a Bachelor's degree from N.Y.U. Later, she studied Library Science at Trenton State College. Mrs. Magdziak enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a teacher in the Neshaminy School District, serving at Pine Street Elementary School, Albert Schweitzer Elementary School, and Pearl S. Buck Elementary School. After retiring from teaching in 1979, Mrs. Magdziak took pleasure in volunteering in the Queen of the Universe school library, and in participating in the Middletown Senior Citizen Center's activities. A member of Queen of the Universe parish, she sang for many years in the church choir. She lived in her home until the end of her life. Mrs. Magdziak was the beloved wife of the late Thaddeus Magdziak. She was the loving mother of John and his wife Frances Magdziak of Tabernacle, NJ; Lenore and her husband Paul Bracegirdle of Washington Crossing; and Stephanie Magdziak and her husband Ronald Berlin of Princeton, NJ. She also leaves her dear sister Lenore "Phyllis" Vengen of East Brunswick, NJ; her grandchildren, Thad and his wife Heather Bracegirdle, Anne Bracegirdle, Jessica Magdziak and Sofia Berlin; great grandchildren Benjamin and Archer; and many devoted nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to gather at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 26th, and attend her Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m., at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Rd., Levittown, followed by the Rite of Committal in Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery in Doylestown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vanguard School, attn.: Advancement, P.O. Box 730, Paoli, PA 19301. This is a school for children with special needs.
