Patty was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to parents, Charles Nungesser and Alice O’Reilly. Patty’s elementary education began at St. Anne’s Catholic School and then she graduated from St. Anne’s Business School in 1987.
She started her career as the Children’s Clothing Buyer/Merchandiser for Kidswear, moved on to become the Director of Stores for Kid City, Inc. and later, while raising her family, she continued on with her education, graduating from Cabrini College with a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational and Behavior Management. She went on to establish an even longer career working for the United States Postal Service, first as a Letter Carrier, and then as a Sales and Marketing Representative.
Patty was a pillar in the lives of each of her children, proudly describing them as her greatest accomplishments. She left peacefully knowing that each of her children were prepared to succeed in life and to continue her legacy.
Patty thoroughly enjoyed reading, having a good conversation or debate, she spent a lot of time at the beach, she was a dedicated fan of the TV show Survivor, loved traveling, and was very dedicated to her faith and active in her church. Most importantly, Patty loved “making memories” anywhere, with anyone, on any given day.
Patty is preceded in death by her mother, Alice O’Reilly, her brother, Baby Charles, and the father of her son, Joseph Friel.
Patty is survived by her beautiful children, Joseph, Maxwell, and Regan, dedicated and loving partner, Robert, and his daughter, Sarah, her father, Charles, and siblings, Charlene (Norman), Susan (Brian), Alice (Louis), Theresa (Edward), Hugh (Tennille), and Francis. Lastly, by her loyal dog, Charles, “Charlie Manuel.”
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 12 with a visitation scheduled for 9:15 a.m., followed by funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmville Road, Bensalem, Pennsylvania, and inurnment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 W. Cheltenham Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Patty’s name can be made to St. Ephrem Church in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.
