Peggy L. Woods

Peggy L. Woods (Scott, Stinson), wife of the late Lt. Col. (Ret.) Howard J. Woods, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Symphony Manor, Feasterville. She was 86. Born in 1931 in Philadelphia and raised in the Cheltenham section of the city, she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Mary Scott, and sister to the late Sherman Lee Scott, Jr. Peggy was a long-time resident of Lower Bucks County. She was employed with Pre-Finish Metals for 17 years as an Inventory Control Clerk, retiring in February 1993. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Croydon Fire Company and was active in local politics. Peggy loved to volunteer.She also enjoyed doing crafts.She was the loving mother of Janet Sands, James B. Stinson, Jr. (Ann), John Stinson (Jill), Judy Deacon (Rick), Jayne Tasey (Ed) and Janice Stinson. She will be sadly missed by her 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by James B. Stinson Sr. grandchildren Herbert Ott III and Alan McGovern Jr, and son-in-law Jack Sands. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, March 3, 2018, from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where her Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm.
