

Robert M. Black passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at his home in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was 89. Born and raised in Midland, Pa, Mr. Black was a longtime resident of Yardley before moving to Arizona in 2009. He was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church of Fairless Hills. Robert was a proud World War II Navy veteran. Mr. Black spent his career working as a cradle operator at U.S. Steel's Fairless Works for over 40 years. He was also a former Constable in Lower Makefield. He spent many years as an umpire and was a member of the NJ Umpire's Association. He also enjoyed playing cards in his free time. Mr. Black will always be remembered as a wonderful and kind man who lived to serve others. He was happiest helping out wherever and whoever he could, no task was too big, too small or too unimportant to him. Robert is the loving father of Scott Black and his wife Karen and Curt Black and his wife Laura.He is also survived by his grandchildren Scott (Karyn), Sarah, Nicole, Kyle, Nathan and Rachael; great grandchildren Tyler, Colin, Miah and Jeremiah; brother Richard Black, sister Mary Ellen Graham and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ruth Ellen and son Rod. Family and friends are invited to attend his graveside service on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Newtown Cemetery, Washington Avenue by Chancellor Street, Newtown, Pa at precisely 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to First United Methodist Church of Fairless Hills, 840 Trenton Rd., Fairless Hills, Pa 19030 would be appreciated by his family.
