Shirley Ann Burger passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Chandler Hall in Newtown. She was 81Born in Philadelphia, Shirley was a long time resident of Levittown.She worked for New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company for many years until retiring.She enjoyed playing the piano and in earlier years she used her talent playing for several local churches.Devoted mother of Robert J. Burger of Richboro and the late Thomas A. Burger, Shirley was the loving grandmother Ashleigh and Lindsey Burger.She was the sister of James (Dottie) Harned of Phoenix, AZ and will be sadly missed by her special friends Linda Burger and Dom D'Amore. Shirley will also be missed by her dog Emily who brought her great joy.Shirley's family would like to offer special thanks to her wonderful neighbors and Bucks County Community Church friends who helped her throughout her illness.Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
