Born in Pittsburgh, PA and raised in New Kensington, Shirley was an original Levittown homeowner for the past 67 years and a founding member of Saint Michael the Archangel Church. She was also a member of the First Catholic Slovak Union.
Shirley retired from J.C. Penney after 28 years as a customer service representative.
She loved all children. She was generous, to a fault, to family, friends, and strangers.
Shirley was a star baker for the Saint Mike's fair. She supported St. Mike's School, behind the scenes, especially Winterfest with her beautifully designed gift baskets and raffles.
Shirley was preceded by her devoted husband of nearly 60 years, Aloysius; and her daughter, Cynthia Hechinger.
Shirley is survived by her loving children, Stephanie, Michelle (Marc) Stoken and Michael. She will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Rebecca (John) Bechtold, David (Angela) Stoken and Joshua Hechinger; and her four great granddaughters, Grace, Emilia and Avery Bechtold and Stella Stoken.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 10:00 am at Saint Michael the Archangel Chuch, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown, PA 19054, followed by the Rite of Committal in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem. There will be no calling hours on Thursday morning.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Saint Michael the Archangel Church at the above address would be appreciated by the family.
