

Stair William "Billy" Briggs Gerlach, of Levittown, died peacefully at home on Thursday, March 8, 2012. He was 21. Born in Memphis, TN, Billy has been life long resident of Levittown. Billy attended BARC in Croydon. He was also a student in the Bristol Township School District attending Lafayette Elementary School where he played drums in the band and Neil Armstrong Middle School where he was elected to Student Council representative. He was a 2009 graduate of Harry S. Truman High School and in 2003 attended the groundbreaking of the new accessible football stadium. Billy was a member of Emilie United Methodist Church where he attended Sunday School. He was also active with Boy Scout Troop 102 at the Church and enjoyed participating in both the St. Patty's Day Parade and the Levittown 50th Anniversary Parade with them. He participated in various leagues including Challenger League Baseball, Levittown Pacific T-Ball and Challenger League Football. He also participated in the Courier Times-Kiwanis Club Sesame Place Classic. Billy was the fighting force in getting the new handicapped accessible library built in Levittown. In 1994, Billy attended the groundbreaking of the new Library and in September of 1995 attended the grand opening where he participated in the ribbon cutting and was given a Key to the Library. One of the highlights for Billy was meeting Smarty Jones and jockey Stewart Elliott who presented Billy with his riding goggles. Billy was the beloved son of Richard D. and Stacy Briggs Gerlach and the loving brother of Ashley Marie, Richard D. Jr. and Anthony Michael Gerlach. He was the best uncle to Christopher William Moore. He was the nephew of Diane and Rob Bach, June and Keith Morris, Linda and Karen Schrader and Deb and Mike Johnson. He was the grandson of Stair Briggs and John Gerlach and will be missed by many cousins, friends and extended family members. Billy's puppy, Tiny, welcomed him to heaven. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, March 17th from 8 until 11 a.m. at Emilie United Methodist Church, 7300 New Falls Rd., Levittown where his funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Rosedale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Billy Gerlach Scholarship Fund, c/o PNC Bank, 91 Oxford Valley Rd Yardley, PA 19067 would be appreciated. This scholarship is given out at Truman High School's scholarship night to a student who is planning to further their studies in special education.
