Thomas Edison Poole III of Waretown, NJ died on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Bridges Assisted Living in Warwick, PA. He was 89.Mr. Poole was born and raised in Trenton, NJ where he graduated from Trenton High School. He has resided in Waretown since 1974.He worked for U.S. Steel in Trenton, NJ for 32 years until retiring in 1982.He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was an active member of the U.S. Navy Armed Guard Veterans of World War II.Mr. Poole was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Barnegat, NJ.He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting and owned several fishing boats.Mr. Poole was the beloved husband of Jeanne Poole (Ferry) for 67 years.He was the loving father of Judy Meister (Jules) of Furlong, PA and Thomas Poole (Beverly) of Hilton Head, SC.He was the devoted grandfather of Kristopher (Kelly), Jonathan and Jessica Meister, Mandy Thigpen (Josh) and Kimberly Dewosky (Brandon) and great grandfather of Ava, Jordan and Mia.Family and friends are invited to call from 10 until 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. A chapel service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place., Memphis, TN 38105.
