

Jimmy was born on June 4, 1931, to the late John and Adeline Vaccaro.
Jimmy's dedication to his family was unwavering. He married his beloved wife, My Thi, in 1973, and together they shared 44 wonderful years of marriage until her passing. Jimmy was the proud and devoted father of Donna (Bruce). He was also a cherished grandfather to Francesca (Joseph), Corey, Krista, Bruce Jr., and Gavin and an affectionate great-grandfather to Joey, Kylie, Makenzie, Raya, and Noah. His love and devotion to his family were evident in every aspect of his life, leaving behind an abundance of cherished memories.
Jimmy's journey from St. Joseph's House for Homeless Industrious Boys to the United States Army is a testament to his resilience and determination. He achieved the distinguished rank of Sergeant Major, one of the most prestigious positions within the United States Army. This rank represents the highest enlisted rank in the Army, marking a pinnacle of leadership, experience, and dedication. As a Sergeant Major, Jimmy's accomplishments reflect years of hard work, exceptional performance, and a deep commitment to serving his country. He served in the United States Army for 30 years, followed by another 24 years as a civilian, totaling 54 years of dedicated government service. His extensive career stands as a testament to his unwavering commitment and exceptional contributions to his nation.
Jimmy's warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to his family will be remembered by all. His presence lit up any room, and his kindness touched the hearts of everyone who knew him. Jimmy found great joy in spending time with his family, especially eating chocolate ice cream while watching Fox News and Family Feud. These simple pleasures brought him immense happiness and strengthened the bond he had with his loved ones.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 29, 2024, from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service. Burial with full military honors will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA at 1:00 PM. Please be in line at the main office no later than 12:45 PM.
