Walter Appleton, Jr.Walter Appleton, Jr. died on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Saint Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. He was 86.Born and raised in Bristol Boro, Mr. Appleton has been a life time resident of Lower Bucks County. He was a graduate of Bristol High School and has resided in Middletown Township for the past 54 years.Mr. Appleton was employed with the former Unisys Corporation in Blue Bell for 39 years and then continued his working career at Medpath for 4 years.He enjoyed camping, fishing, cruising and vacationing.Mr. Appleton was a member of Emilie United Methodist Church of Levittown, the Social Hibernians, and a lifetime member of the Elks in Morrisville.He served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army, with the 24th Infantry Division, 26th AAA, during the Korean War.Beloved husband of 58 years to Marianne P. (Zdenek), Mr. Appleton is the loving father of Debbie Appleton DelDonno and Gregory Appleton.He is the devoted grandfather of Danielle Rikki, Devin Rachel, Jessica Rose, Jordan Ashley and the dearest brother of 2 sisters.Mr. Appleton will also be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm. Interment will be held in Washington Crossing National Cemetery at a future date.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Appleton's name may be made to Emilie United Methodist Church, 7300 New Falls Road, Levittown, PA 19057.
