William R. "Bill" McCarty of Bristol Township died on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Chandler Hall. He was 77.Born and raised in Philadelphia, Bill was a long time resident of Bristol.He spent his career working as a service man with Streamfitters Local #420 for over 40 years.Bill was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran serving during Vietnam.He was an avid golfer and H.A.M. radio operator known as K3WMC, but mostly he was a dedicated family man.Bill is the beloved husband of 54 years to Gerry (Proposki) and the loving father of William R. McCarty Jr. (Mary) and Gary W. McCarty (Sherri).He is the brother of Patricia MacDonald, Betty Buchta, John McCarty, Kevin McCarty and Tom McCarty and is also survived by several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.Family and friends are invited to call from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Friday at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 p.m. Rite of Committal will follow at 2 p.m. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sarcoma Foundation of America9899 Main Street, Suite 204, Damascus, MD 20872.
