William Francis Rutledge

William Francis Rutledge Sr. of Langhorne, PA passed away on June 16, 2022 at 84 years old. He died peacefully in his bed.William is survived by his wife, Anne (nee Malec), his sister Anna Marie Portman and grandchildren: Ryan and Danielle Rutledge. He is pre-deceased by his son, William, Jr.; his brothers: John, Thomas, and James; and his parents, Mary and John Rutledge.William proudly served in the United States Navy alongside his father and brothers. He went on from working in the engine rooms of destroyers to become a handy plumber. Later, he once again worked for the Navy and ended up retiring as a diligent and respected project manager.In his retirement he devoted himself to his grandchildren. From taking them shopping for clothes and school supplies to trips to visit family up north, he was the picture of the perfect caring, if a little eccentric and a bit grumpy, grandfather. He will be deeply missed.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, June 24, 2022, from 9:30 AM - 10:15 AM at Our Lady of Grace RC Church, 225 Bellevue Ave, Penndel, PA 19047, where his funeral mass will celebrated at 10:30 AM.  The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 W Cheltenham Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19150.
