
William W. Space, of Bensalem, died on Friday, April 23, 2010 at Wood River Village in Bensalem following a brief illness. He was 82. Born in Noxen, PA, Mr. Space was a long time resident of the Indian Creek section of Levittown before moving to Wood River Village in Bensalem two months ago. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Space was employed with U.S. Steel in the Blast Furnace and on the Docks for 30 years until retiring in 1986. After retiring he worked for Baim Enterprises (McDonald's) for 22 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and sports fan. He was a long time member of Harriman Methodist Church in Bristol. Mr. Space was the beloved husband of Carol M. (Scouten) Space for 59 years. He was the loving father of Jerry and his wife Valorie Space of Moorestown, NJ and the devoted grandfather of Carolann (Erik) Cautin and Kristine Space. He is also survived by his brothers Frank and Bert and his sisters Sylvia and Lorraine all of up state Pennsylvania. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of his service at 11:15 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
