

Ada O. Williams, age 90, of Manchester, NH and formerly of Auburn, ME died Wednesday evening, March 5th at Villa Crest Nursing Retirement Center with family at her side. She was born in West Minot, ME on January 9, 1924, the daughter of John and Anna (Ervasti) Ojala. She was educated in local schools and remained in the community most of her life. Ada’s young adulthood was filled with hard work on the family farm, dancing, and Church socials. She embraced her Finnish heritage and was a member of the Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine. On September 15, 1945, she married Donald I. Williams, who passed on February 19, 2003. Ada worked most of her life in retail sales throughout the Lewiston Auburn area. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Auburn. Her favorite past times were family gatherings, traveling, bowling, scrabble games, card games, blueberry picking, swimming and walking on the beach. She was fun-spirited, forever a joker, a great hostess, and always a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother who will be dearly missed. She is survived by her four daughters: Martha Hebert and husband Dennis of Sunapee, NH, Nancy Taylor of Auburn, ME, Patricia Williams and George Ewbank of Santa Clarita, CA and, Vicki Fontaine and husband Dennis of Manchester, NH; grandchildren, Chad and Mary Hebert, Erin Lee Matyczynski and her husband Mike, Michelle and Geoffrey Taylor, Christina Taylor and Aaron Sirois, Chelsey Elliot and husband Paul, Jenna Weaver and husband Chris, Katelyn Fontaine and Hector Cruz; great-grandchildren Jayson and Christopher; as well as many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Ernest and Matti; and six sisters, Mary, Ann, Lempi, Laina, Linda, Hilda.
