Albertine L. Lapointe

AUBURN - Albertine "Betty" L. LaPointe, 91, a resident of 440 Minot Ave., Auburn died early Wednesday morning at Clover Manor Health Care following a short illness. Betty was born in Jay, December 11, 1916, the daughter of Joseph and Marianna (Litalien) Gourde. She grew up in Chisolm and attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic School. She married Arthur "Pete" T. LaPointe on February 8, 1937. She was employed at Pepperell Mills for 33 years. After her husband's death in 1973, she became an employee at St. Mary's Hospital and worked there for 10 years. Betty enjoyed baking, sewing, making quilts, afghans, embroidery, crocheting, and was an advert crafter in her later years. She is survived by one son, Robert and his wife Helen LaPointe of Monmouth, three daughters, Sylvia and �husband Floyd Carter of Collierville, TN., Claudette and husband, Larry Dahlgren of Duluth, MN., Barbara and husband, James Griffin of Hampton, VA; 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, plus the many spouses from each of the different generations; two brothers, Roland Gourde of Canton and Leo and Pauline Gourde of Rumford as well as a very dear friend, Amos Campbell. Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Cecile Gourde Hennessy, and Theresa Gourde Brady;as well as two brothers, Albert �and Napoleon Gourde. There family would like to extend sincere appreciation for the care given Betty on Side 4 of Clover Manor during her short illness. LAPOINTE died in Auburn, May 28, 2008, Mrs. Albertine L. "Betty" LaPointe age 91 years a resident of Auburn. Funeral services honoring Betty's Life will be held SATURDAY 11:00AM at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home.
