

LEWISTON - Carlyle W. "Bud" Rogers, Jr., age 61 and resident of East Rd., Fayette, died peacefully on October 30, 2010, at Central Maine Medical Center, following extended illness resulting from a motorcycle accident on April 30th this year. Bud was an officer of the United States Army and a member of the Patriot Guard.Bud was born in Jackson Heights, New York, on July 28, 1949, to Carlyle W. and Lorena (Brown) Rogers, Sr.He joined the United States Army after high school, serving as a Chief Warrant Officer and helicopter pilot during the Vietnam Conflict. Bud was the recipient of the Purple Heart, Distinguished Flying Cross, 28 Oak Clusters, Air Medal, Bronze and Silver Stars.Bud went on to graduate from Cameron University and subsequently received Master’s Degrees from both the University of Oklahoma and Centenary College.Throughout much of his career, Bud was employed as an executive in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. He retired to Maine in 2005.Survivors include sons Carlyle W. Rogers, III of Valencia, California, and Christopher S. Rogers of Taylor, Texas, granddaughters Mya, Caetterina, Anika and Bella, and brothers Richard L. Rogers of Tallahassee, Florida, and William A. Rogers of Grove, Oklahoma.Memorial services honoring Bud’s life will be held WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 3rd at 11:00AM, with Pastor Richard Cullen presiding at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home.. The United States Army Honor Detail will conclude the services.Family and friends are invited to visit one hour prior to services for a memorial gathering at the PINETTE & LYNCH FUNERAL HOME located at 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway, Lewiston; phone 207-784-4023.
