Carmen T. Guay

Carmen Therese (Levesque) Guay, 89 of Biddeford passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House after a brief illness. Born on May 27, 1933 in Lewiston, Maine, daughter of Antonio P. Levesque and Adrienne (Robida) Levesque. Carmen married the love of her life, L. Robert “Bob” Guay on July 31, 1954 at Saints Peter & Paul Basilica.

Carmen graduated from St. Patrick’s School in 1948, attended school at the Sacred Heart Academy in Jackman, Maine and graduated from St. Dominic’s High School in 1952. She worked at Senter, Giroux & Caniff Department Store and also at Knapp Shoe until the birth of her son, Paul.

Carmen was a member of the Biddeford 50+ Club and a member of the Good Shepherd Parish of Biddeford. She studied piano and singing for many years. Her hobbies were reading, bird watching, word puzzles and watching TV. Above all, Carmen enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors are her husband of 68 years, her son Paul R. Guay of Portland, and her daughter Helen C. (Guay) Fournier and her husband Marc of Biddeford. Four grandchildren, Marcy Fournier of Biddeford, Christopher Fournier and wife Jessica of Conway, NH, Kristina (Guay) Cushing and her husband Brian of N. Waterboro, Andrew Guay of Portland. Three great grandchildren, Cole, Julia and Grace Fournier of Conway, NH.

Carmen is predeceased by her parents, brother Raymond A. Levesque, and daughter-in-law, Diane Guay.

FORTIN/LEWISTON Visitation will be 2-4 pm Sunday, December 18 at The Fortin Group, 70 Horton Street, Lewiston.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 pm Monday, December 19 at the Holy Cross Church, 1080 Lisbon Street, Lewiston

Committal Prayers will be offered at St. Peters Cemetery following the Mass.
