Cecilia M. Harkins

Born in Lewiston, Me. 10-31-32 to Michael T. Harkins and Marjorie (Ham) Harkins 4th child of 7. Educated in Lewiston schools. earned her O.R.T. License at St.Mary's Hospital Lewiston, Me. Worked several years as Dr. Wilfred Cloutier's scrub nurse, recovery room, minor surgery & E.R. She loved the medical field and later pursued her R.N. in Lynn Mass. Later worked in home health & kidney centers in Mass.& Maine. She retired from nursing in 1997. She worked summers at Augusta West Campground in Winthrop, Me. She married Frederic Aberle Sr.in 1950. They had 3 children, Patricia, Frederic Jr., Karren. In 1967 she married Roland E. Lachance, they had one child Jonethan. Her long time companion "Gratien Roy" was her soul mate and blessing. Cecilia enjoyed meeting old and new friends, baking and sharing her cakes, pies and whoopie pies with campers. She made 49 cut and tie blankets in 2012 giving them to friends and family. Her hobbies were playing the piano, bird watching, garage sales, gardening.Her happiest times were spent with her family.Very important to her were Christmas family reunion's which she hosted to age 78. Her family were her gifts from God. She was known for sending cards for all occasions and thoughtful notes to people she cared about .She was first to respond if family was in need.Also she kept a diary for 30 years. Her pets were her dog Corky and her cat Kia. She leaves behind 4 children Patricia Aberle of Lewiston, Frederic Aberle Jr.& wife Linda of Auburn, Karren Aberle of Mercer, Jonethan Lachance & wife Shawnna of Wells, brother Mike Harkins & wife June of Waterboro, sister Rose & husband Dewey Stephenson of Waterboro, brother in laws Eugene Connors also Norman Hankins.Cecilia's long time companion Gratien (Bob) Roy of Lewiston. Grandchildren Marcia, Erika, Stacie, Annie, Caitlin, Megan & Aarron. Great grandchildren, Nathan, Kayleigh, Jared, Annabelle,Jackson, Jayce, Cayden. Several neices & Nephews. A special neice of Greene Deb Landerville. Extended family, Sue, Mike, Beth & Bob St. Hillare. Mike, Mickalla, Aiden, Dayson Roy all of Lewiston. Former husband Roland Lachance of Wells.
