Claire M. Allard

LEWISTON - Claire M.Allard, of Lewiston went to be with the Lord on July 15th, after a short, but courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born in Hudson, MA., September 9, 1929, the daughter of Leo Lerette and Adrienne Gagnon. She moved to Lewiston at a young age where she attended St. Joseph's School and Lewiston High School. At the age of 15, she began her life long career as a waitress. She married the late Lawrence Michaud in 1946 with whom she shared four wonderful children. Years later she married the late Benoit Allard. Claire was a hard worker with a total of 62 years dedicated to waitressing. She worked at the Ramada Inn, The Harvest House, Martindale, Black Bull Steak House, and most recently at Julienne's. Throughout her career she established lifelong friendships with many of her co-workers, and bosses, Kim and Cristel Negm and Don Hebert, whom she was quite fond of. To those that worked with her, she was known as "Ma." Claire enjoyed spending time in Old Orchard Beach with her grandchildren, and sisters. She loved to go to Atlantic City and Foxwoods with her sister and best friend Gloria Donohue. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and Tiger Woods. Claire enjoyed playing "Texas Hold'em", daily crosswords, and word jumbles in the newspaper, and wouldn't miss a day without a lottery ticket in hand. Claire will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She was a beautiful person inside and out, who loved life as well as everyone who surrounded her. She is survived by her three loving children, son, Larry Michaud of Lisbon,and daughters, Kathy Gagne and her husband, Joe of Greene, Sherry Flammia and her husband, Mike of Standish, a brother, Raymond Lerette and his wife Lois of Bowdoin; two sisters, Gloria Donohue of Lewiston, and Doris Rioux of Lisbon; her grandchildren; Gary, Heather, and husband, Derek; Kristen, Joe II; Patrick, and Michael and a great grandson Andrew Gatlin. She was predeceased by both parents, her husband, Benoit Allard, a niece Nancy Donohue, and a daughter, Barbara Barnett, whom she missed dearly. ALLARD died in Lewiston, July 15, 2007, Mrs. Calire M. Allard age 77 years a resident of Lewiston. A Mass of Christian Burial honoring her life will be held THURSDAY 11:00AM at St. Patrick's Chapel.
