

AUGUSTA – David B. Carver, 61, a resident of Augusta died Monday, April 4th at Maine General Medical Center following a long illness. He was born in Lewiston, September 4, 1949, the son of Elwood N., and Fleeta A. (Smith) Carver. David was the youngest of nine children. He was educated in Auburn Schools and was a graduate of Edward Little High School. He then continued his education at the Augusta School of Commerce majoring in accounting. Following his education, he began his career in Maine banking, and then moved on to begin his career with the Maine Public Utilities Commission retiring in 2001. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed skiing, hunting, and fishing. Survivors include two brothers, W. Roger Carver of Leeds; and John Carver, Sr., and his wife, Laura of Turner; six sisters, Joan Lyons and Norma Hoy both of Auburn; Dot Hanson and her husband Bill of Florida; Margaret Hodge and her husband, John of Florida; Judith Boothby and her husband, Ted of Turner; Sandra Vye and her husband, Richard of Auburn; 12 nieces and nephews, as well as many grand nieces and grand nephews. Memorial services honoring David’s life will be held SATURDAY 11:00AM at the West Auburn Congregational Church with Reverend John Ellis officiating. Burial will be held later in the spring at North Auburn Cemetery.
