Auburn; Ellen Chervenak, 91 years young, died peacefully on Saturday April 14 with her family by her side at The Oddfellows home in Auburn. She formerly formerly resided on Sherbrooke. Ave in Lewiston.
She was born April 6, 1927 at home in Anson, Maine. She was the daughter of John and Mary Kachmar. She was the youngest of seven children. She grew up in Madison, Maine and graduated from Madison High School. She met the love of her life, George Chervenak and they married on May 1, 1948. Together they had two children. They lived a very happy life together. George died July 13, 1989. Ellen worked and supported her husband George in building his accounting firm in Lewiston and in Livermore Falls for many years until his death.
Ellen was a Eucharistic Minister at Holy Family Church and would hold weekly prayer meetings at her home for many years. She was a member of The Ladies of St. Ann and spent many hours supporting various church functions. She traveled with the church throughout Europe and treasured the memories. In her spare time she loved to do word search puzzles.
Survivors include her daughter Carole and husband Terry Moore of Pembroke, NH, her son Jim Chervenak and his wife Sue of Lewiston. Her grandchildren Shane Fletcher and wife Josie, Chad Fletcher and wife Kerri, Jill Black and husband Rick, Amy Bergeron and Eddie Chervenak, and they blessed her with 10 great-grandchildren. Ellen also embraced her extended family which included an additional 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She will always be remembered for her devoted faith and her impeccable style and grace.

Visitation Fortin / Lewiston April 18 Wednesday 4 to 7 Thursday from 10:00 to 10:45. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church 670 Sabattus St. Lewiston April 19 Thursday at 11:00 am.
Rite of Committal will be held later this spring at St. Sabastian Cemetery in Madison.
