Frank L. Norman

LEWISTON- Frank Lee Norman, a Maine Chemist, Inventor and Green Environmental Expert, age 65, a resident of Lewiston died on Wednesday July 28, 2010 at Central Maine Medical Center following a short illness with Leukemia. Frank was CEO and President of Future Fuel Technologies, Inc., a company based on his inventions FFT Fuel Saver and E10 Water Remover. The company will continue to exist and sell his products. Frank had a personal mission to boost the free world's petroleum supply 10-20% to conserve petroleum until a suitable new energy source could be developed. Frank was recognized and respected as an alternative energy expert in the mid-coast Maine area. Frank had previously worked as a Marketing Consultant and partner in Go Marketing in NJ. Earlier in his career he was also the leading Senior Marketing representative for ARCO Chemical and worked for Penwalt-Lucidol and Union Carbide. Frank served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1970. First in Germany in war plans and then as a front line Captain and company commander in the Vietnamese highlands. He was awarded a bronze star for bravery as well as numerous citations for outstanding work, leadership and academic achievement. Frank is survived by his wife Arlene Norman of Lewiston; two daughters Deborah Scheuerman and two grandchildren Abigail and Thomas in Germantown, Maryland and Laura Marren of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; a son David and grandson Corey in Harrisonburg, VA; and a step-son Peter Davis in NYC. Funeral services honoring Frank's life will be celebrated on Monday at 11AM at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home. Military Honors service will then follow at 1PM at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Mt. Vernon Road in Augusta.
