

He was born on October 8, 1934 in Lewiston, Maine. His parents were Cyprien Bosse and Alexina Ouellette. He attended Lewiston parochial schools and graduated from St. Dominic Regional High school in 1953.
He married Claudette Pelletier on November 26, 1959. They had 4 children between the years of 1960 to 1965. He had a very successful career in the grocery business. He started as a produce clerk at the A&P and worked his way up to produce Manager. He later worked for Hannaford where he retired there as a produce specialist which had him traveling all over the state of Maine.
He was always proud of the fact that he served in the Army National Guard from 1954-1961. He additionally was activated into the Army 20th Armored Battalion from 1961-1962. Later in life, he was especially proud to pin his grandson Joseph Bosse as 2nd Lieutenant at his West Point military academy graduation.
He had a passion for gardening and was known to have a green thumb which was apparent in the beautiful landscapes surrounding his homes.
He also enjoyed coaching youth hockey in his earlier years and participating on the board of the Lions Club Tournament in Lewiston. It was then that he coached the St. Peter’s Mite’s to a 1st place championship.
Upon retiring, he enjoyed woodworking, golfing, and family get togethers. At the family get togethers, ping pong was a highlight and Gerry would dominate.
Gerry was a devoted catholic, eucharistic minister, lector, and for many years flipped pancakes at the St. Jude 4th of July pancake breakfast.
One of his biggest heart aches in life was losing his beloved wife of 43 years at the age of 63. He loved his family and always grinned ear to ear when talking about his 4 children, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He would always add there were 2 on the way in 2026.
He is survived by his four children Tom Bosse and wife Christine, Terry Gallupe and husband Glen, Annette Bosse and husband Ken Bray, and Michelle Bosse and husband John Egan. He’s also survived by one brother, Normand Bosse.
He is predeceased by his wife Claudette, sister Noella, and brother Clement.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation for Gerald on Thursday, January 22nd from 9AM to 11AM at The Fortin and Pinette Group, 305 Alfred A Plourde Parkway Lewiston, Maine 04240. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated following the Visitation at 11AM at the Upper Church of the Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul, 122 Ash Street Lewiston, Maine 04240, followed by Military Honors and Committal Prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 217 Switzerland Road Lewiston, ME 04240.
