Lewiston - Gerard L Rousseau 83 of Homefield St. Lewiston died Saturday April 12, 2014 at his home with his family at his side. Born in Auburn May 2, 1930 the son of the late Joseph & Roseanna Grenier Rousseau. He attended Edward Little High School where he played football and track for three years and was also a member of the Key Club and chorus. He was class president in his senior year graduating in 1949.
He served in the United States Air Force overseas during the Korean Conflict. He started working at Flanders Clothing Store in 1949 and later owned & operated the store until his retirement in 1997.
Mr. Rousseau was a member of The Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Family Church.
He was a member of the Exchange Club, charter member and first president of the Grand Stand Club, president of the Auburn Suburban Little League, served as chairman of United Way, Red Cross board, past president of the Chamber of Commerce, member of the Auburn Business Group, Auburn Business Development Corporation, was a Corporator of Androscoggin Bank for over twenty years. He served as chairman for Androscoggin and Oxford County for Jim Longley campaign for governor. He was chosen as Auburn Man of the Year in 1977 and was Auburn Councilman for four years.
Jerry will be remembered for his great community spirit, his warm, generous heart, and his love for his family.
He is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years the former Yvette Begin of Lewiston, whom he married June 1, 1985.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday 1:00PM April16, 2014 at Holy Family Church 607 Sabattus St. Lewiston, ME.
