Gertrude F. Bailey

LEWISTON- Gertrude F. Bailey, 81, of Lewiston, died unexpectedly on Monday April 28, 2014 at Central Maine Medical Center surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born in Lewiston, Maine on November 19, 1932 the daughter of the late Alfred and Roseanna (Matheau) St. Pierre and had been a resident of this community for most of her life. She was educated at St. Peter’s, Coburn and Jordan Schools. She then attended OR schooling at Thayer Hospital in Waterville. She was employed as an Operating Room Technician at St. Mary’s Hospital and Central Maine Medical Center for over forty years until her retirement in 1996.

She was a volunteer on the Event Planning Committee at CMMC, an active participant with St. Louis Parish Bingo and a parishioner of Holy Cross Church. Gertrude enjoyed shopping, gardening, jewelry and spending time with her family. She loved playing games especially Aggravation, Parcheesi “Go to Heaven” and Scat. She was a mentor and teacher of her passion in the operating room. Anyone she ever met felt loved, cared for and touched. She is survived by her life long partner of forty-five years Henry Morin Sr. of Lewiston; one daughter Joy Bailey and her companion Lisa Bogdahn of Falmouth; a step-daughter Diane Braley of Monmouth; a step-son Henry Morin Jr. and his wife Sandy of Lewiston; a sister-in-law Connie St. Pierre of Auburn; two grandchildren Maranda Pennini and her husband Dan of Franklin, MA. and Kyle Landry of Lewiston; two great grandchildren Alexia Landry and Owen Pennini.

She was predeceased by her sister Jeannette Sirois and her husband Edward; and by her brother Romeo St. Pierre. Online condolences and sharing of memories may be expressed at www.lynchbrothers.com . A Funeral Mass honoring Gertrude’s life will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Church. Committal services will then follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-9 PM at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway, Lewiston 784-4023.
